Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS)
The AS/RS system is a specialized warehouse automation technology designed to buffer, store, and retrieve products and inventory on demand.
This technology varies substantially and can consist of shuttles, cranes, carousels, vertical lift modules (VLMs), micro-loads, mini-loads, or unit-loads. It is often integrated with warehouse execution software (WES) or management software (WMS).
